The entire HKR series is coated with hot zinc only. Although many ramps are often installed inside the contour of the premises (pit), due to their design specifics they have to work in the area of the cold bridge. Therefore, in the event of temperature drops, the entire ramp structure usually becomes a place of condensate. In open surfaces, condensate is still able to dissipate, and in closed cavities it is a constant source of moisture. This is why ramp structures are subjected to the additional effects of increased corrosion.


When operating loading ramps in a pit, debris almost always accumulates in the pit. Therefore, such ramps work in aggressive environments. The structures supporting them must be protected against increased corrosion protection.

Ramp construction, operating for 3-5 years

When operating ramps outdoors, they are compatible with industrial equipment operating in outdoor conditions. This is a pretty serious test for their anti-corrosion protection.


As practical experience has shown, hot-zinc coatings are best suited to such operating conditions. It covers not only the upper areas of the structure, but also the interior spaces, providing maximum protection for the entire product. This is why this solution was chosen to maximize product durability and design reliability.



The load-bearing frame is the main part of the ramp on which the entire structure rests. Despite the global trend to minimize costs by choosing design solutions very close to the limit, we have made the decision to maintain a strong, stable and reliable load-bearing structure. A design solution for hot-rolled steel profiles was chosen to ensure safe and long-lasting operation.



The ramp platform is its main working part. It is it that is frequently loaded, assuming all the dynamic loads. The longevity of the entire ramp also depends on the choice of its design. Our designers had to turn their heads significantly to reconcile the resistance of the ramp platform with the requirements of EN 1398 for transverse glazing. But we succeeded. Today, the entire HKR series is characterized by its strength and durability and meets the requirements of EN 1398. It is this one of the key features that makes our ramps durable and long lasting.



Despite the seemingly completely simple (from the outside) construction, ramps are not such a simple and elementary product. They are constantly loaded with dynamic loads, have a number of their own design features and "hidden" places, which can be unpleasantly surprising during operation. That is why we had to use modern 3D design methods and verify the obtained results with digital modeling of finite elements.

This choice allowed to avoid hidden design errors, to find optimal solutions both in the design and in the production technology. As a result, you, as a consumer, will get a truly reliable and long-lasting product that does not contain "childhood diseases".


The design and manufacture of loading ramps are regulated by the requirements of EN 1398. They specify in sufficient detail the requirements for design, manufacture and operation. Starting with the selection of loads, their calculation schemes, ending with references to operation. As an example, it is possible to specify a dynamic load factor that requires the selection of structural strength parameters with a 30 percent margin, the determination of the maximum angle of inclination of the ramp plane, etc. The HKR series fully complies with all EN 1398 requirements. You will be assured and guaranteed that you have a product that is approved for use and meets all safety requirements.


There are often cases where the road freight platform is not completely horizontal. This happens due to various factors. This may be due to the characteristics of the car's suspension and whether it is due to the position of the load on the platform. There may be temporary shifts during loading and / or unloading. In all such cases, the most unpleasant thing that can happen is when one edge of your ramp is not clinging to the cargo platform. In this case, you will have a problem when your truck breaks, its tires and chassis are damaged, or loading work is severely hampered by loading with wheels or handcarts.

To prevent this, HKR series ramps have a transverse edge that additionally compensates for such transverse elevations. This is another, quite important parameter in the operation of ramps.




In the photo above, you can see what a 14 mm thick plain structural steel bridge looks like in actual operation. Really unhappy picture. It is clear that simply increasing the material thickness of such a bridge will not be enough. That is why we decided not to increase the thickness of the material, but to change the material itself. HKR series ramp bridges are not made of plain structural steel, but of a much stronger and more wear-resistant. The HARDOX steel used to make these bridges is about three times stronger than similar structural steels. Therefore, we not only strengthened the bridge, but also made it thinner and more beautiful. Well, and the spatial construction of folding bridges only improved the load-bearing properties of these bridges. To make them not only strong but also safe, we have also coated them with a special non-slip and abrasion resistant coating.


It is said that taste is not disputed. The entire construction in the HKR series is already coated with hot-dip zinc. But sometimes you want special design solutions. For such cases, we offer an additional non-slip coating. Not only will it improve the optical image and become one of the design elements, but it will also make your loading ramp even safer.



All HKR series ramps are equipped with special hydraulic stations with integrated controls. All elements are mounted on the station itself, there are no additional components. All this is very compactly composed. Such a solution ensures that the selected elements are balanced with each other and perfectly suited to the tasks assigned to them. You will have no problems during operation or maintenance.


Protecting ramps from footstools is one of the most important safety features. If it is missing or does not work properly, your employees can easily be injured. Unfortunately, this topic did not receive proper attention from either the designers or occupational safety specialists. Most of the ramps in use today are either completely unguarded or bent or dropped. What causes such a situation? Everything is very simple. This is the specificity of design solutions. The point is that when installing a ramp in a pit, there is a limited height of the structural part. Oh, allowing the ramp down any elements protruding beyond the main structure can interfere. This is what determines that the side guards of ramps are usually made segmented and movable. This works well when the ramp is new. But after half a year, such a connection begins to brown and get stuck. The guard then folds or falls and the ramp is operated with the greatest damage.


Our designers made an extraordinary decision. We have had to radically change this protection design. As a result, a modular, independent side guard has emerged that is used for ramps mounted in the pit. This design is significantly more expensive than existing analogues, but allows the ramp to be operated safely and / or the guards themselves to be replaced or repaired without dismantling the ramp. You usually can’t do that on the ramps of even the most common brands.


This is another feature of our HKR series. The bottom line is that in order to service a ramp, you usually have to slide under it. There are really not many places there and the environment there is far from where you would feel comfortable. As a result, many ramps are either completely unserviceable or serviced in serious violation of the regulation. And the service itself is really cheap. To improve this situation, the HKR series has a design service hatch through which you can perform service from the top of the load platform. This is another element that distinguishes our products and shows that it is important to us that you can operate them as economically and comfortably as possible.


Get used to the good quickly. It has already become normal for everyone that service is one of the important factors in production. Unfortunately, as far as the world of ramps is concerned, this is not always the case. Usually, when building an object, suppliers are selected on the principle of the lowest price. When you put a building into operation, you face a problem where solving your service issues becomes not so easy. Make sure you know who made your product, which determines the performance of your well-functioning mechanism. The production and operation of cargo ramps is one of the main parts of our business.
